Karwa Chauth - Healthy Ayurveda Receipe

This is one day festival celebrated in the northern region of India. On this day, married females keep fast from sunrise until moonrise for longevity of their husbands. Females break fast after seeing moon and than their husband face.

Karva is another word for diya (a small earthen oil-lamp) and chauth means 'fourth' in Hindi (a reference to the fact that the festival falls on the fourth day of the dark-fortnight, or krishna paksh, of the month of Kartik).

This is also important from Ayurveda point of view. This changes the routine of the body functioning. Occasional fasting relax and cleanse the body. Several metabolic adjustments occur during fasting, and some diagnostic tests are used to determine a fasting state. For example, a person is assumed to be fasting after 8–12 hours. Metabolic changes toward the fasting state begin after absorption of a meal (typically 3–5 hours after a meal). Extended fasting has been recommended as therapy for various conditions by health professionals of most cultures, throughout history, from ancient to modern.

One should have to take care of the diet when fasting or when fasting is over. Eating light food is preferable. We are presenting the Broken Wheat Kheer which is not only delicious but easy to digest.
